Chargesheet filed against alleged ISI agent

Pune, July 6 (UNI) The Crime Branch today filed a chargesheet against alleged Inter Services Inteligence (ISI) agent Vishalkumar Upadhaya of Jharkhand in a spying case.

Talking to UNI, Investigation PI Bhanupratap Barge said chargesheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Kalpana Rathod as the police have obtained a sanction from the Central government to prosecute the accused under section 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3, 4 of the Official Secrets Act.

Upadhaya was arrested on April 8 this year by the city police, following a tip-off from the Intelligence Bureau, Mumbai.

Mr Barge said the Pune Police had recommended to the government the deportation of the other accused in the case Syed Sahid Hussain Termizi and Abdul Latif alias Javed, both working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, back to Pakistan as they were immune to prosecution under the Vienna Convention.
