Chahal gets bail in Mercedes Benz case
Patiala, July 6 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge Bhupinder Singh today granted bail to BIS Chahal, Media adviser of erstwhile Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, in forgery and cheating case registered at Civil Lines police station.
Chahal got bail on the personal bond of Rs one lakh and two sureties of equal amount.
After hearing the arguments of defence and public prosecutor on Wednesday the Judge had reserved the decision on the bail plea.
NPS Wariach and JPS Sarao appeared on the behalf of Chahal.
The lower court has ordered to hand over the Mercedes Benz vehicle, to the real owner Jagatjit Singh. On his complaint Chahal was arrested on June 15 by Patiala Police.
Chahal was in judicial custody till July 14. Patiala Police has arrested him last month in cheating and forgery case.
He was granted bail in Kitchen case and a lower court had rejected his bail application in Mercedes Benz case.
Bail plea of Chahal is pending in Punjab and Haryana Court in a case registered at Ludhiana. The next hearing of this case is fixed on July 9. The release of Chahal will only possible if he will get bail from the High Court.
