Italy's Borri inks agreement with Unitek Power
Kochi, July 6: In its bid to tap the huge potential of the Indian market, Italy based Borri, leading manufacturers of UPS units in the world, has inked an agreement with city based Unitek Power Systems Private Ltd to market its products in the country.
Addressing mediapersons last night here, Borri Asia Sales Manager Franco Fabbri said India had a Rs 4,000 to 5,000 crore UPS market, which was expected to grow at an annual rate of 20 to 30 per cent.
''As industries like automobile, engineering, construction, real estate, retail, shipping and IT, which had brought remarkable success to the India's economy, it need uninterrupted power supply, there was a large market for high quality UPS,'' Mr Fabbri noted.
Borri, specialised in manufacturing powerful electronic equipment for industrial use, was a favourite in petrochemical, tele communication, transportation, IT and utility sector industries, he added.
The company, which had a global presence, produced UPS units ranging from 10 kva to 1,000 kva, battery chargers, rectifiers, static inverters, static transfer switches, frequency inverters, voltage stabilizers and distribution panels.
Speaking at the function, Unitek Managing Director John Zachariah said his company would market all Borri products and provide after sales service in India. The agreement would be effective from 2008, he added.
