Bomb found in heart of Tinsukia, defused

Guwahati, Jul 6: Suspected ULFA militants targeted the business township of Tinsukia in upper Asom yet again today, by planting a powerful Improvised Explosive Device in the heart of town.

Police said the bomb, kept in a tin container in the Prakash Bazar area, was detected by local traders who immediately called police.

Bomb experts from the Asom Police and Army later defused the IED, which was quite powerful, and could have create havoc in the market place teeming with people.

Two persons have been picked up for interrogation.
