Jaipur, July 6 (UNI) Traditional ballot boxes instead of the ubiquitous Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) will be used for storing the votes of Rajasthan's legislators in the July 19 Presidential polls.

Assistant Returning Officer Yadu Nath Bhatt told UNI that the use of ballot boxes was inevitable in the polling with preferential voting and therefore it would be used in the Presidential polling.

He said the ballot boxes for conducting polling in the Rajasthan Assembly premises here would be brought from New Delhi two days in advance and would be sent back to Delhi on July 20 for counting of votes in the Parliament Complex.

He said MLAs are expectd to cast their vote in the respective state capitals whereas MPs are supposed to exercise their franchise at Parliament Complex in New Delhi.

However, both of them have the option to cast their votes in New Delhi or in their respective state capital. They are required to seek prior permission in written, from the Returning officers 10 days in advance of the polling date, Mr Bhatt added.
