Azad to head committee to monitor SHRC recommendations
Srinagar, July 6 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a Cabinet sub-committee, headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, to monitor the implementation of recommendations of the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC).
While Mr Azad would be the convenor, the other members of the committee are Transport Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and Power Minister Nawang Rigzin Zora, according to a government order.
It said the Home Department would service the Cabinet sub-committee.
The SHRC had repeatedly complained that the state government and other agencies were not implementing its recommendations.
