Arrangement for presidential election reviewed

Shimla, July 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda today reviewed poll preparations for the Presidential election in the state.

Ms Nanda held a meeting and reviewed the arrangements made ahead of the election for the first citizen of the country.

She said pre-poll arrangements include collection of ballot papers, ballot boxes and other election material. These would be made available on July 14 by the Election Commission of India to Vidhan Sabha Secretary J R Gazta, who is also the Assistant Returning Officer for the election.

Polling would be held on July 19 from 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs at the Dr Y S Parmar Library Hall in the Vidhan Sabha.

She said the State Election Commission had ensured all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of the elections.

Besides Mr Gazta, Additional Chief Electoral Officer G K Shrivastava, Director, Information&Public Relations Dinesh Malhotra were among the senior officials present in the meeting.
