Chandigarh, July 5 (UNI) In order to ensure more power supply to the domestic consumers in rural areas, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) would segregate the domestic and tubewell loads of 704 existing 11 KV level feeders at a cost of Rs 218 crore.
A Nigam spokesperson said that 3,619 villages of Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Jind and Jhajjar districts would be benefited by way of more power supply period, better voltage and continuity of power supply.
He said earlier there was no separate arrangement of power supply for domestic category consumers of rural areas.
The Nigam had been supplying two-phase power during the regulation period which resulted into changing of phase by the consumers on their own, damage of transformers, interruptions in power supply and increase in accidents.
He said that segregation of load would also give relief to the heavily loaded feeders.
