MP HC withdraws order to get flood relief scam inquired by Lokayukta
Jabalpur, July 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today withdrew its earlier order of getting alleged irregularities in flood-relief operations in Damoh district's Hata tahsil five years back and role of a state minister in it inquired by Lokayukta.
Hearing an application by Minister of State for Panchayat Gangaram Patel, a joint bench comprising of Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh gave the order.
Mr Patel's counsel told the court that a petition levelling false charges of intervention and bias in flood-relief work was filed against the minister because of political rivalry.
He said a division bench of the High Court comprising Justice Shravan Shankar Jha and Justice Ajit Singh had given one-sided order to get the matter inquired by Lokayukta on June 27.
