Mayur Vihar shootout accused taken into three day police remand

New Delhi, July 5 (UNI) Anil Kumar, one of the three accused who yesterday shot dead a 26-year-old employee, a Chartered Accountant in Mayur Vihar area of East Delhi, was today send to three day police remand.

35-year old Anil Kumar, who along with his accomplices shot at Santosh after he had withdrawn the money from Mahamedha Cooperative Bank in Noida's Sector 41, was produced before a local court which remanded him to three day police custody, police said.

Santosh was shot in the chest and arm in Mayur Vihar at about 1600 hrs yesterday, after assailants failed to snatch a bag containing nearly nine lakh. He died on the spot.

The accused Anil, who presently operates a PCO booth in Noida, was caught by two passersby and thrashed by local residents before being handed over to the police. However, two of his accomplices managed to flee.
