Massive protest at Kangan after soldier shot at villager
Srinagar, July 5 (UNI) Hundreds of villagers today took to the streets after a soldier shot at and injured a villagers at Kangan.
The soldier later shot himself with his service weapon. Both the injured were hospitalised, official sources said.
They said a solider shot at and wounded a labourer, Abdul Rehman, near an Army camp at Kangan, about 40 km from here, after the two had heated argument over some issue.
The solider later shot himself, they said.
Later, hundreds of locals took to the streets after hearing about the incident.
Raising slogans against the security forces, the demonstrators alleged that soldiers were using abusive language and misbehaving with women of the area.
The police had to use force after demonstrators tried to block traffic on the main road.
