New Delhi, July 5 (UNI) Pleading her husband's innocence in the failed terror plot in London and Glasgow, Indian-born doctor Mohammed Haneef's wife claims he had bought a one-way ticket to India because they planned to go back together with their new-born baby.

Even as Australian police managed to extend the custody of Haneef by four more days for further questioning, his 24-year-old wife Firdous Ashriya told CNN-IBN,''If he alreday had a ticket we would have had to buy a separate one for me and my baby and travel separately.'' Justifying her husband's decision, she said ''He also had to arrange for my baby's visa and passport which would have taken him a month.'' Firdous says she still had not spoken to her hsuband but added,''We spoke to the Indian Embassy over there (Australia) and they said they would try and make me talk to him.'' However, she admitted Haneef's decision to give the SIM card to his second cousin and co-accused Sabeel Ahmed before leaving UK, has landed him in trouble.

Asked about Sabeel, she said that neither did she know him nor was he a frequent visitor at their home but maintained that even he (Sabeel) was innocent.

''Actually Sabeel is a bit of a friendly person. He socalises with everyone and because of that may be he spoke to someone related to all thses things,'' she pointed out.

About why her husband's house in Brisbane was unkept raisnig suspicions about his hurried exit, she said he was not a lady who would keep everytingh close to his chest.
