Bandh and rain paralyses life in three districts of Bengal
Purulia, July 5 (UNI) The 12-hour bandh called by the Maoists in Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore in protest against gang rape, murder and land acquisition in Singur and Nandigram, passed off peacefully today.
Heavy showers in south Bengal added to the troubles of the people by stagnating life in these parts of the state.
In all 153.4 mm rainfall was recorded in Purulia district, while 151.2 mm was recorded in Bankura district.
