CMIA's National Garment Fair to be held on July 24

Mumbai, July 4: The Clothing Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI) today said that they would organise the 48th National Garment Fair (NGF) from July 24 and July 26 in the metropolis, that would be inaugurated by Bollywood action icon Suniel Shetty.

Addressing a press conference here, CMAI President Rahul Mehta said, ''This fair would be one of the biggest trade fairs to be organised in the country. The NGF is the perfect forum for retailers, vendors and brands to interact with each other. It will provide a platform for brands and companies to unveil their latest collections, to be seen in advance, before they will be launched in stores in Spetember-October this year.'' The event will be held at the NSE complex at Goregaon, in the western suburb of the city. It is expected to attract more than 18,000 visitors (retailers) and over 250 companies representing 400 brands will display their collections, Mr Mehta claimed.

Keeping in mind the new trend in the industry, the CMAI has also included new concept by including Franchising Zone this year.

Besides, the NGF will also witness for the first time, the presence of well known fashion designer Tarun Tahilani, who will be showcasing his haute creations in the fair.

The leading players who will be participating in the 48th NGF include Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Notting Hill, Hues, Tibre, 109 F, Siyaram MSD, Oxemberg, Classic Polo, Smash, Richlook and Tessuti.

The NGF will also have for the first host six ramp shows (Fashion shows) comprising of two shows per day for the three days, Mr Mehta added.
