AIYF to agitate for unemployment dole
Hyderabad, July 4: The CPI-affiliated All India Youth Federation (AIYF) will embark on a series of stirs in Andhra Pradesh from tomorrow to press for their 18-point charter of demands, including provision of unemployment dole of Rs 1500 per month to youth.
Informing this to newspersons here today, AIYF State General Secretary G Eswaraiah charged the Congress Government with failing to honour its poll promise of filling up 2.90 lakh vacancies in various Government posts and over 80,000 vacancies in the posts reserved for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
As part of the series of agitations, AIYF activists would stage dharna before district collectorates tomorrow. This would be followed by a signature campaign, coinciding with the Quit India day of August nine, to press for making employment, a fundamental right, among other things, he said.
Five Cycle Yatras would be organised to Hyderabad from the borders of neighbouring states from September 10 to 28 to highlight the plight of youth, he informed.
The AIYF activists would also visit hospitals across the state from July 10 to 15 to carry out a survey of the patients' problems, including shortage of doctors, medicines and para-medical staff in Government hospitals, he added.
