YSR concerned over price rise, orders release of pulses stock
Hyderabad, July 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed serious concern over price rise of essential commodities and ordered the immediate release of 3.7 lakh quintals of pulses immediately besides ensuring sale of some essentials at Rythu Bazaars.
At a review meeting here, Dr Reddy took to task ministers and officials concerned on the rising prices of certain essential commodities like edible oils, pulses and vegetables.
The chief minister asked the officials to purchase onions from Nashik for sale in Rythu Bazaars. He was told the prices of tomatoes had gone up because of non arrivals from places like Kolar and Madanapalle due to heavy rainfall.
Dr Reddy wanted essential commodities like onions, tamarind and oil to be sold at Rythu Bazaar at reasonable prices. No middlemen should be allowed to sell vegetables there.
He asked the officials to ensure the immediate release of 3.7 lakh quintals of pulses, an official release quoting him said.
