Tripura govt announces 52 per cent DA for employees

Agartala, July 3 (UNI) The Tripura government announced another 52-per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) today to it's all category employees and pensioners with effect from 1st July 2007.

Talking to media here this evening chief minister Manik Sarkar said that the cabinet has decided to merge 50 per cent of the DA with basic pay while two per cent would be given in cash to the employees.

''The employees as well as the pensioners will get the cash benefit from the next month salary but additional Rs 126.07 crore will be required per annum for the purpose'', Mr Sarkar said adding that Rs 84.04 crore is required for this year.

He, however, stated that after declaration of 52 per cent, total DA has calculated 71 per cent for Tripura government employees, which is about 14-per cent less than the central slap.

The chief minister also informed that the state government does not have any plan to constitute new pay commission in the state soon.
