Respite for people in Pune

Pune, July 3 (UNI) After nearly a week of heavy rains, Puneikars had respite from incessant rains, with the sky remaining clear for the major part of the day.

The IMD forecast spoke of occasional rain or showers for the next 48 hrs for Pune and its neighbourhood. Some parts of Maharashtra may receive heavy to very heavy rains.

Meanwhile, as per the PMC flood control, around 13,500 cusecs water was released from Khadakvasla Dam this morning. ''The situation is very much under control as there was not much rains today'', PMC flood control official informed.

Traffic on Pune-Mumbai Expressway and NH-4 was smooth, highway police said.
