Ration dealers threaten Parliament march on Sept 1

Kozhikode, Jul 3 (UNI) The All Kerala Retail Ration Dealers Association (AKRRDA) today threatened to take out a Parliament march on September one in protest against the Government's move to close down godowns of Food Corporation of India (FCI) in varous parts of the State.

Talking to newspersons here, AKRRDA Working President M V Basheer said FCI godowns at Angadippuram, Wellington Island and Valiathura were already closed as a preliminary step to dismantle Public Distribution System(PDS) in the State.

Mr Basheer said the Government was planning to shut down seven more FCI godowns at Kuttippuram, Nileswaram, Chalakkudi, Arattukulam, Chingavanam, Alleppey and Kollam to achieve their nefarious designs.

The organisation would also stage statewide dharna on July nine to pressurise the authorities to reconsider their decision, he added.
