Rains to boost kharif crop production
Bareilly, July 3 (UNI) Farmers have heaved a sigh of relief to see the 'showering' blessings of the 'Rain God' as it would boost the production of 'kharif crop' A much awaited monsoon finally today hit the few districts of Uttar Pradesh bringing respite from the humid and sultry weather.
It started drizzling early in the morning and further aggrevated lashing the city with water.
The Met department had so far recorded 35mm of rainfall in the city, which is the highest of the season.
Rains that showered the district and the nearby areas, came as a blessing to the 'Kharif crop,' but had posed hardships for people due to water logging at different areas.
Meanwhile, agriculture experts have predicted good growth of kharif crop, including soyabean and cattle fodder, however production of 'methi' would be affected.
