Jaipur, July 3: Police have filed a report following Jodhpur court orders in the controversial poster case anointing Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as goddess.

Although police refused to spell the details of the report which was filed yesterday in court no. 3, sources say the police report underlines that the offence does not fall under sections 120-B, 285 A and 298 of IPC as pleaded by the petitioner.

On June 19, petitioner Sheetal Kunwar, wife of former external affairs minister and senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh, had filed a complaint in the court that the posters depicting Raje as Goddess Annapurna hurt the religious sentiments of the people and the poster publisher and designer Hemant Bohra and BJP MLA Surya Kant Vyas, who released the poster, should be booked for intentional hurting religious sentiments of people.

Following her complaint, the Jodhpur court ordered police to file a report.

The controversial poster was released in April this year by Mr Vyas. The poster also depicts BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Lord Vishnu, L K Advani as Lord Brahma and Rajnath Singh as Lord Shiva. State Cabinet ministers Laxmi Narayan Dave and Pratap Singh Singhvi were depicted as Kuber and Lord Indra respectively.
