No Dy CM has so far become CM in Maharashtra: Patil
Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who is the acting chief minister in absence of Vilasrao Deshmukh, currently touring USA, today declined that he was aspiring for the coveted post, saying no deputy chief minister has become chief minister in the state.
Replying to a query by the mediapersons about how does he feel being the acting Chief Minister and whether he is planning to reach the coveted post, Mr Patil said ''I am aware that historically, no deputy chief minister in Maharashtra has so far become the chief minister.'' Mr Patil has indicated the political truth of the state as none of the deputy chief ministers including Nasikrao Tirpude, Ramrao Adik, Gopinath Munde, Chhagan Bhujbal and Vijaysinh Patil could become the chief ministers.
