Myanmar-trained ULFA rebel held

Guwahati, Jul 3 (UNI) A Myanmar-trained ULFA militant was arrested from Charigaon area in Jorhat district of upper Asom today.

The Jorhat Superintendent of Police said that the militant, Mrityunjay Mahanta, was involved in the blast in Jorhat town in May.

Two bombs were recovered from him.

The ultra had joined the outfit in 1995 and undergone arms training in Myanmar, the SP said.
