Muslim delegation urges CM to restrain Gujarat cops
Hyderabad, July 3 (UNI) A Muslim delegation led by Moulana Hameeduddin Aquil Hussami and MP Asaduddin Owaisi today urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to stop the Gujarat police from entering the state and arresting innocent people, in connection with Haren Pandya murder case.
Observing that there was a feeling of insecurity among Muslims, scholars and Madrassas that they were being targetted by the Gujarat government, the delegation urged Dr Reddy take steps to prevent the arrest of innocent people.
The Chief minister assured the delegation that he would do everything to see that there was no feeling of insecurity among the Muslims and innocent people were not harassed.
The Gujarat police arrested Moulana Ashrafali, Head of a Madrassa in the city, in connection with the conspiracy angle of Hiren Pandya murder case, registered in 2003, three days ago. Nine more people were also wanted in the case from Hyderabad.
