Munnar: Court grants stay on Abad's petition

Kochi, Jul 3 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today stayed the order of State Principal Revenue Secreatary Nivedita Haran regarding the cancellation of 'Patta' of the Abad Motels and Resorts at Munnar.

Justice S Sirijagan granted the stay on a petition filed by Abad Motels and Resorts, which had challenged the eviction notice issued by the revenue authorities. The court had stayed that order last week.

Meanwhile, an appeal filed by the State against the Interim order granted to the Abad group last week was not considered by a Division Bench consisiting of Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K T Sankaran.

The Court observed that the order passed by the single judge was not a speaking order. The court directed the Counsel for the State to approach the single judge, who passed the order and get it modified.
