MP asks for review of safety norms for shopping malls

Bangalore, July 3 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Member Rajeev Chandrasekhar today sought Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy to review the safety standards and process of approval for shopping malls in the state following the death of six year old Ahan on July One.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, released to the press here, he wanted an inquiry conducted into the safety approval provided to the Mall where the tragedy happened.

With Malls mushrooming all over the country rapidly there was a need for a review on safety of these mega shopping centres to prevent parents undergo the pain as Ahan's parents were suffering, he added.
