More institutes offering job oriented courses needed: DCM

Mysore, July 3 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today emphasised the need for more institutes that offer job oriented courses to help unemployed youths to become self employed.

Inaugurating the new building of the JSS Jan Shikshan Sanstan here he said that it was not possible for everyone to get jobs whether in government departments or private companies. Hence young men and women should explore starting their own ventures, he said.

He also complimented the JSS Jan Sansthan which was one of the best such institutions among the 16 such institutions in the country providing entrepreneurial training to more than 40,000 people so far.

The DCM suggested that the financial institutions including nationalised banks should provide loans to such youths and women who have passed out of such courses.

The government taken up a programme for the unemployed youth under "Survana Kayaka Project" in which more then one lakh unemployed youth would be trained in various industries for period of six month to one year. Later such candidates would be given jobs. Last year IT sector had provided jobs to more then 60.000 such youths in the state, he said.
