Light showers cool Delhi, more rains expected
New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) The dry spell being experienced by the people of Delhi since the first monsoon showers lashed Delhi on June 28, ended today with light rains hitting the city late last night, bringing some coolness in the air and raising hope for more showers and a consequent return to pleasant climes.
After several days of clouds playing hide and seek with the city, Delhiites woke up to an overcast sky this morning. The clouds, coupled with the cool breeze, brought the minimum temperature down to 27.5 Degrees Celsius, from 28.6 degrees yesterday.
Though only about 7 mm of rain was recorded till 0830 hrs the weatherman have forecast more showers during the day.
He forecast a generally cloudy sky in the next 24 hours with a few spells of rain and thundershowers. After the first monsoon showers hit Delhi on June 28, a day ahead of their scheduled date, the city has been experiencing a dry spell with the sunny conditions and high humidity leaving the people sweltering.
