TN: Kollywood stars vote for Taj
Chennai, Jul 3: With hours ticking by for the July 7 announcement of the New Seven Wonders of the World, a group of film personalities here voted 'Taj Mahal' for entry in the list of the New Seven Wonders of the World which is being compiled by the new 7 wonders foundation.
Upcoming Tamil film director P Chithirai Selvan led a procession on the Marina here yesterday, in which filmstars doing roles in the forthcoming Tamil film 'Agra,'' the title reflecting the great monument Taj Mahal, participated.
They assembled before the Light House and voted for Taj Mahal by sending SMS through a lap top from there.
Actors Vikash, Anjali, Emi Mohan, Gayatri, Y G Mahendran, Abinayashri and others took part in the last-minute campaign for retaining the Taj Mahal in the list of the new seven wonders of the world.
Mr Chithirai Selvan told newspersons that 'Taj Mahal is a historic landmark that symbolises India's rich heritage and culture.
It is the duty of each and every citizen of this great country to participate in this campaign and vote for one of India's most symbolic and internationally recognised landmarks.'
