Srinagar, July 3 (UNI) The State Human Rights Commission(SHRC) in Jammu and Kashmir today took suo motu cognizance of media reports suggesting that three civilians were allegedly killed in a fake encounter in the border district of Kupwara on June 28.

SHRC chairperson Justice M Y Kawoosa directed the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Range, to furnish a detailed factual report about the incident to the Commission by August 1.
