Heavy rains lash Chittorgarh, Banswara dists
Jaipur, July 3 (UNI) Chittorgarh and Banswara districts of Rajasthan received heavy rains in the past 24 hours, with the monsoon setting in in time in these parts.
Salopat and Chikli in Banswara recorded 130 mm and 106 mm respectively while Nimbaheda in Chittorgarh received 110 mm rainfall.
The rainfall continued throughout the day.
The weather office reports, Kelwada in Rajsamand district measured 80 mm, Nathdwara 60 mm, Kotda in Udaipur district 105 mm, Mount Abu in Sirohi district 60 mm rainfall. Many places in Bhilwara district received rainfall ranging from 30 to 50 mm.
According to weather spokesman, monsoon has become active in Kota and Udaipur divisions. Several places in these divisions received over 20 to 50 mm rainfall. Udaipur city witnessed 30 mm rainfall and Mawli 64 mm. Kota City recorded 9 mm rainfall, Jodhpur received trace rainfall while Bikaner division remained dry.
Clouds hovered over the state capital the entire day and intermittent rains followed bringing some respite from humidity.
The Met department has warned of heavy rains in Udaipur and Kota divisions. Meanwhile, the state government has declared 21 districts as sensitive and has made preparations for disaster management.
