Patna, Jul 3 (UNI) The Opposition RJD today described Patna High Court's directive on Amir Das Commission as a 'moral defeat' of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government.

The party also hoped that the Bihar government would take steps in pursuance of the court's order.

The HC had directed the Bihar government to take action on the basis of recommendation of the Amir Das commission.

The commission, constituted during the RJD regime to ascertain the nexus between the politicians and proscribed Ranveer Sena, had been dissolved by Nitish government at the time when the commission was likely to submit its report.

RJD state spokesman Bhim Singh told reporters here that his party had raised the issue in the Assembly but the NDA government had ignored it.

'' The haste action of winding up the commission was an attempt of the Nitish government to save certain NDA leaders, patronising the banned outfit,'' he alleged.

The NDA government had failed to take measures in this regard, Mr Singh warned adding that the people would lose their patience and resort to stage demonstration on streets over the issue.

Earlier, the Court had directed the state government yesterday to take action as per the recomendations of Amir Das inquiry commission to probe links of political leaders with the banned Ranvir Sena, in connection with the Lakshmanpur Bathe massacre.

The government had submitted the records prepared by the commission on October 12, 2006 after the directive of the Patna High Court.
