Haryana earmarks Rs 21 cr for Grameen Rozgar Yojana
Chandigarh, July 3 (UNI) The Haryana government has earmarked a sum of Rs 21 crore to implement the Sampooran Grameen Rozgar Yojana in the state during the current financial year.
Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh said under the scheme, daily wages employment would be provided and food security would also be ensured in the rural areas.
He said the scheme would also be helpful in development of infrastructure in the rural areas.
Mr Dharambir Singh said the employment opportunities would be made available for those needy persons who were interested to take up the manual unskilled work in the villages.
He said that during the last 28 months, a sum of Rs 161.86 crore had been disbursed for providing 132 lakh mandays generated in the rural areas.
Out of these, 84 lakh mandays were generated for scheduled castes and 38 lakh for women. Besides, 93114 metric tonnes of wheat had been distributed among the beneficiaries.
