Girl died of convulsions not diarrhoea: MHO

Vijayawada, July 3 (UNI) Even as the family members of a 13-year-old girl, who died in a private hospital here today stated that their daughter died of diarrhoea, the Corporation Health Official confirmed that the girl died of convulsions.

Speaking to UNI, town Medical and Health Officer (MHO) Sambasiva Rao said, Bandaru Devi, the deceased had a headache and vomited in the early hours of today, following which she was admitted to a private hospital. However after 15 minutes, the girl died of convulsion, Dr Rao said.

So far only a three-year-old girl Gayathri of Gollapalemgattu had died due to diarrhoea on Saturday.

Dr Rao said during the past five days, about 36 people, mostly children and aged persons, were affected with diarrhoea.
