Gas leakage in leather tannery; 3 feared killed

Kanpur, July 3 (UNI) In an incident reminiscing the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, at least three people were feared killed, following gas leakage at a leather factory in this industrial city of Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 40 tanners and others were said to be inside the Talat International Tannery in Jajmau area, when the gas leaked.

Three persons were feared killed and several reported affected by the harmful gas, police said.

Senior officials have reached the spot and rescue operation were underway.

Details were awaited.
