Four robbery cases solved

Mumbai, Jul 3 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, the property cell of the city police has succesfully solved four cases of robbery, which occured in the last fifteen days in the metropolis, by arresting seven persons of 'Pase Pardi', a notorious gang of robbers.

Addressing mediapersons here this evening, city Police Commissioner D N Jadhav said '''We have solved four cases of robbery by arresting seven persons associates of Suresh alias Surya Shinde, who is the leader of Pase Pardi gang.'' Mr Jadhav said, acting on a tip-off, sleuths of the property cell initially nabbed Shankar alias Munna Babul Solanki (22) and Jivan Babula Nadar (20) from the eastern suburbs. During interrogation they admitted that they had committed a robbery at Pant Nagar in Ghatkopar on June 16 this year and at Tilak Nagar on June 19. As the interrogation continued, the duo revealed that they were affiliated to 'Pase Pardi' gang. Duo also confessed they were involved in the robbery of a jewellery shop at Versova on June 17.

Police have recovered Rs 40,000 cash, two mobile phones, 30 gms gold chain, vehicle that was used at the time of robbery.

Meanwhile, police today had received additional information that five robbers were hiding in Dharavi slum area. The police raided the place and arrested five persons -- Javed Sheikh (22), Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh (19), Israil Mohammed Khan (19), Rahees Ahmed Khan (19) and Nadeem Noormohammed Khan (18). The accused have admitted that they had looted a couple on June 26 at Mahim in western suburbs.

All were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate court today who remanded them to police custody till July 14.
