Former Minister passes away

Jaipur, July 3 (UNI) Former minister and senior Congress leader Chogalal Bakkolia passed away in a private hospital in Ahmedabad today.

He was 63.

Bakkolia was admitted in the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad a week ago after he suffered a stroke. According to information reaching here, he died at about 1300 hrs today.

Bakolia started his political career in 1980 after resigning his job of an assisant engineer with the Rajasthan State Electricty Board. He held the post a deputy minister during the chief ministership of Shiv Charan Mathur and was elevated to a cabinet minister in the Haridev Joshi and Ashok Gehlot cabinets.

Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committeee president Dr BD Kalla condoled the death of the Congress leader. He said his contribution in the field of rural developemnt and tribal upliftment was notable.
