Five robbers arrested from Umita Bridge
Anand, Jul 3 (UNI) Anklav Police arrested five highway robbers last night from Umita Bridge in Anand District when they attempted to rob vehicles, passing through the bridge.
On a specific information from the local crime branch, Police Inspector S N Rathod and team kept a close watch on them at the bridge. The robbers, numbering seven, arrived at the site at 2200 hrs last night and started stopping the passing vehicles.
The police immediately rushed there and caught five of them while two fled under the cover of darkness.
The arrested were identified as Pravin Padiyar, Ranjit Padiyar, Kalabhai Vaghari, Ashok Vaghari and Jiko Dhabi, sources said.
Anklav Police has registered a case against them and initiated further investigation into the matter.
