Chandigarh, July 3 (UNI) Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) N P S Aulakh today held a meeting with Haryana DGP R S Dalal to chalk out a common strategy to deal with the situation arising out of the conflict between Dera Sacha Sauda followers and Sikh activists.

The two police chiefs met at the Punjab Police headquarters here this evening and reviewed the law and order situation in the region in the wake of the controversy generated by the alleged imitation of Guru Gobind Singh by Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued by a Bathinda court against the Dera chief who later got an anticipatory bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

A police spokesman said the two DGPs decided to strengthen vigil on the border areas of the two states.

A strict vigil would be kept on all those who would be crossing from one state to the other. All the vehicles would be checked at the borders of the two states.

The police forces of the two states would keep in touch at all times and would share information and intelligence with each other, he said.

Nobody would be allowed to disturb the peace and communal harmony in the region. Anyone trying to vitiate the atmosphere would be sternly dealt with, he added.
