Deccan aircraft develops snag on runway, 7 flights delayed
Kolkata, July 3 (UNI) Departure of seven flights to different destinations from the city airport today was delayed as an Air Deccan aircraft's engines stopped on the main runway during its final take off, airport sources said.
The Delhi bound Deccan flight via Raipur got stuck on the runway of the NSCBI as both the engines stopped and the nose wheel got stalled during the final take off at 0630 hours.
Airport authorities said one of the wheels of the flight got stuck after the engines stopped while the plane was proceeding on the runway.
The airplane which was stranded with some 100 passengers aboard was towed back to the bay where the passengers disembarked and the plane was grounded.
This delayed some seven flights to different destinations, the sources added.
