Chargesheet submitted against IAS officer
Jabalpur, July 3 (UNI) Lokayukta today submitted four chargesheets against Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Ramesh Thete before a special court here.
Lokayukta Police submitted chargesheets against Mr Thete before Special Judge P C Gupta on the charges of obtaining Rs 12 lakh loan from banks by furnishing false information, demanding Rs one lakh bribe from the principal of an industrial training institute and amassing Rs 42 lakh wealth disproportionate to his income.
The court took exception to Mr Thete remaining absent during the submitting of chargesheet despite information in this regard.
Mr Thete was posted in Jabalpur as Director of Employment and Training in February 2002 when he was caught red handed while taking a bribe from an ITI Principal. After being caught, he was posted in Bhopal.
He obtained personal loan of Rs 12 lakh from two banks by furnishing false information in 2005.
Government pleader Uday Cholkar and Mr Thete's counsel Anil Khare were present in the court.
The 1993 batch officer had served as the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation Commissioner from 1999 to 2000.
