Arunachalam award Prestigious Brahm Prakash Memorial medal

Bangalore, July 3 (UNI) Dr V S Arunachalam, one of India's distinguished technologists and Chairman of the Centre for Study of Science Technology and Policy (CSTEP), a Bangalore-based Think Tank, has been awarded the prestigious Brahm Prakash Memorial Medal for 2007 by Indian National Science Academy (INSA).

The award was established to commemorate the memory of late Dr.

Brahm Prakash, a pioneer in the development of Indian Atomic Energy and Space programmes, and is awarded once in three years to a scientist or an engineer who has made outstanding contributions in any area of engineering and technology. This award carries a medal and an honorarium of Rs. 10,000, according to a INSA release.

The previous award winners include Dr S Banerjee, Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Prof Deekshatalu, formerly the Director of National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA).
