Agitation against MNC entry in retail trade in MP
Bhopal, July 3: Different political parties and non-political organisations today decided to launch an agitation across Madhya Pradesh in phases to protest the entry of major companies, including multi-national companies, in retail trade.
''Besides profiteering, the multi-national companies had conspired to monopolise both retail and wholesale trade by paralysing the existing businessmen and thereby create unemployment of a different sort. Such conspiracy would be defeated through united struggle'', the meeting resolved.
Representatives of non-BJP and non-Congress parties, including Janata Dal (United), Gondwana Gantantra Party, Samajwadi Janata Party, Janata Dal(Secular), Nationalist Congress Party and Janata Party, besides Swaraj Sthapana Manch attended the meeting, said former Madhya Pradesh Minister Savita Bajpayee in a release.
Former legislator Nagin Kochar has been appointed coordinator to launch the agitation under the banner of Khudra Vyapar Bachao Jan-Sangharsh Samiti by enrolling retail and wholesale traders, youth and common people.
Regional conferences were also proposed in this direction, the first at Rewa on July 22 and the second at Jabalpur on July 29. The state-level convention will be held in the state capital on August 9, Mrs Bajpayee said.
Besides Mrs Bajpayee, prominent among those who attended today's meeting here include Mr Dilip Singh Bhuria, Mrs Saroj Bachhan Nayak, Mr Kanker Munjare, Mr Subedar Singh, Mr Ramlakhan Singh, Mr Nagin Kochar, Mr Govind Yadav, Mr Manmal Soni, Mr Hariom Suryavanshi, Mr Sikander Khan and Mr Ramchandra Damor.
