Action against 153 doctors for doing private practise in UP
Lucknow, July 3 (UNI) Acting tough on government doctors indulging in private practice, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken action against 153 such doctors.
Replying to a question of Shyamdeo Roy Choudhury (BJP), Minister of State for Health Anant Kumar Mishra said the government had issued strict instructions against private practise by government doctors.
''Action against 153 government doctors has been taken with initiation of department enquiry against them,'' he said.
He said 1290 doctors on contract basis have been appointed so far in the state while another 897 will be appointed very soon.
Besides, the orders have been given to appoint 1400 doctors, 930 nurses, 783 lab technicians and 92 x-ray technicians on contract basis in the state, he said.
