4 sentenced to death over double murder
Amroha, July 3 (UNI) Four accused in a double murder case were given capital punishment by a court in Jyotiba Phulenagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
Additional sessions judge Bani Singh Nirala handed over the sentence yesterday.
According to the prosecution today, the four assailants Mushahid, Ganga Prasad, Rinku and Samarpal had killed the driver and cleaner of an SUV on August 28, 2004.
The quartet had hired the vehicle and were en route to Amroha.
Later, to hoodwink the police, the accused hanged the bodies on a tree and fled with the cash and mobile phone of the deceased.
The bodies were identified as those of Satish and Deepak of Panipat.
While, Mushahid, Rinku and Samarpal were nabbed during a police encounter on September 5, 2004, another accused Ganga Prasad who had managed to escape, later surrendered himself.
