358 people killed in rain fury in Maharashtra
Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) As many as 358 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents across Maharashtra during the past one month.
According to state rehabilitation minister Dr Patangrao Kadam of the 358 dead, 240 were electrocuted from June 1 to July 1. In all, 1,963 villages in 27 districts of the state faced the rain fury, causing floods and casualty.
Maximum number of casualty was reported in Aurangabad division 96, followed by Nashik 95, Amravati 41, Konkan 54, Pune 47 and Nagpur 25. 913 cattleheads lost their lives in one month, while 15,321 houses were damaged partially and 913 completely.
