3-day Sufiana programme in Bhopal
Bhopal, July 3 (UNI) A three-day Sufiana international-level music and dance programme will be organised at Rabindra Bhavan here from July 5.
Madhya Pradesh Culture Minister Lakshmikant Sharma told reporters here today that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the programme. Egyptian folk dance by 'Al-Behira' group will be the main attraction, he said.
''This is the first time when any international-level troupe is taking part in this programme due to the efforts of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations'', Mr Sharma said, adding this group performs the musical Sufi Tanora dance.
Mr Sharma said famous Kathak dancer Ms Manjari Chaturvedi and her group will perform on second day. She created the Sufi Kathak with the melodious amalgamation of classical dance, music and Sufi vocal.
Famous Kawwals Gulam Fareed Nizami and Chand Nizami will perform kawwali on July 7. Nizami family had inherited Sufiyani kawaali from their ancestors, Mr Sharma added.
