1586 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu, July 3 (UNI) The second batch of 1,586 pilgrims today left Jammu base camp for Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, official sources said.

Devotees, including 273 women and 45 children, left for Nunwan and Baltal yatra camps at 0535 hrs in a 69 vehicle convoy, sources said.

In the first batch, 2,356 pilgrims left for the holy cave shrine yesterday.

The commencement of the annual yatra, which was scheduled for June 30, was delayed by two days due to heavy rains and landslides en route making the track slippery and risky.
