15 feared killed in BCCL's abandoned mine

Dhanbad, July 3 (UNI) At least 15 people, engaged in illegal mining, were today feared dead after the roof of an abandoned BCCL mine here caved in.

BCCL general manager Ajay Kumar told UNI over phone that he was rushing to Bhagdi coal mines, the site of the incidence, about 30 km from here to make an on-the-spot verification.

Police said about 15 people who were digging out coal illegally from the abandoned mine were feared killed as its roof caved in.

The BCCL had closed the mine some time back.
