Warm, humid conditions continue, dry spell could end soon

New Delhi, July 2 (UNI) Delhiites sweltered under warm and humid conditions as the dry spell in the city, after the first Monsoon rains on June 28, continued.

With clouds and rain playing hide and seek with the people of the city and the sun shining clear in the sky, the maximum temperature rose to 36.7 degrees Celsius.

The minimum also rose to 28.5 degrees, one degree above normal.

The absence of rains, coupled with high humidity levels of 82 per cent, kept most Delhiites indoors.

The dry spell in the city could soon end with the weathermen forecasting some rains or thundershowers in Delhi over the next three to four days under the influence of a low pressure area in the North Bay of Bengal.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.

After the first Monsoon rains hit Delhi on June 28, a day ahead of the scheduled date of arrival, the city has witnessed a dry spell, with the heat and high humidity leading to sweltering conditions.
